About

We listen, act, and transform

Are you tired of feeling just fine then out of nowhere you get triggered without knowing how or why and you end up feeling stuck dealing with the uncomfortable feelings of fight, flight, or freeze response? Let me help you overcome the residual impact of childhood trauma and the compounding anxiety disturbing your life. Currently, I hold my Clinical Mental Health Counselor’s license and a provisional Clinical Addictions Specialist license, both with the state of North Carolina. I have been practicing for over 7 years. I am a certified Life Coach through Liberty University and a certified Yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance. I hail from an extensive military background as the daughter of a veteran, wife of a veteran, and as a proud veteran myself, of the United States Army. I enjoy working with adults (individuals or couples), veterans, and active duty. I actively embrace culturally diverse populations. I utilize evidence-based modalities including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Informed Interventions, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Tai Chi, Qi-Gong, Emotional Freedom Techniques, and Yoga for the residual somatic symptoms of trauma. Additionally, I am certified to conduct Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), which enables people to heal from the symptoms of emotional distress resulting from disturbing life experiences. I successfully conduct individual, family, couple, and group therapy in the areas of substance abuse, anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger management, mood disorders, relationship conflict, self-esteem, trauma- and stressor-related disorders, and PTSD where a typical therapy session would include the implementation of psychoeducation, role-playing, social skills, conflict resolution, anger management, healthy coping skills, grounding skills, and problem-solving skills, along with the development of self-awareness, critical thinking, or effective communication techniques. I inspire all clients to take an active role in their growing/healing process. Finally, I am a very direct person as I do not know how to sugar coat things; however, I am compassionate and empathetic with all of my clients. I am a suggestive therapist in spite of my directness. I look forward to working together with you along your journey to living a purposeful, victorious life.
